Lauren Tanney will speak on "Reinventing Yourself" in this job market.
| Lauren runs her own leadership consulting company, The Tannywood Group, Inc., providing management consulting, executive coaching and facilitations. Lauren is also affiliated with The 180 Group and is trained to deliver their proprietary “Wildfire” process to rapidly create company visions, organizational values and value propositions and spread them throughout companies. She has been a Chair for Vistage International for seven years, leading several executive peer groups who serve as a brain trust for each other, and coaching over 100 CEOs, owners and C-level executives. Lauren has run her own company, a venture-backed start-up, and a business unit of a $200-million publicly-traded software company, all with full P & L responsibility. She was Chief COO of Centers, a provider of online college prep courses for high school students, now owned by Kaplan. She grew Achieva’s Schools Division from an idea into the entire focus of the company, building revenue to $8 million in one year. She previously managed a business unit for publicly-traded Broderbund Software, producing 30% of the company’s profits. Her additional experience includes senior management roles in several disciplines: VP of Sales and Product Development for Krames Communications, a $30 million health education publisher; consumer wine marketing for Gallo, Almaden and The Wine Group; and finance and acquisitions for Fireman’s Fund and CIGNA. Lauren’s functional experience includes general management, operations, sales, marketing and finance. Throughout her career she has energized work forces, revamped pricing, entered new markets and added new product lines, all resulting in significantly improved profitability. She holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and is a magna cum laude graduate of the third class of women at Dartmouth College.
