“BART”

 

In December 2008, two members of St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Poway, California, started a ministry called InlandNet which “Brings All the Right People Together” (BART).  The vision is simple – to help people in transition find new careers.

 

Our vision focuses on: 

 

  • Providing assistance to people who are in transition,
  • Training people on how to find jobs, and
  • Providing resources that are not normally available at networking events 

The ministry is to bring people together in a social network that assists those in transition (also known as career search) find new employment. What makes us unique is that InlandNet provides resources that are not normally available at networking events. These may include financial counseling, spiritual guidance and psychological counseling for participants and their families.

 

Fast Facts:

 

  • InlandNet makes the church relevant in the world. Doing the work Jesus called us to do…helping each other. 
  • As of June 30, 2010, InlandNet has assisted ~ 130 members find new career's across the United States (see testimonials).  The group has ~ 600 members and growing.
  • There is never a charge for services or to participate but donations are accepted. 
  • The InlandNet Executive Team has developed several communication systems, which allows members to receive career opportunity leads from local human resources managers, professional recruiters and other InlandNet members thus increasing the probability of obtaining a new career.     
  • Interview skills, resume writing and other job search enabling events will be offered in the future.
  • The Executive Team and Board of Trustees are all volunteers, either working in the San Diego Community or in their own career search and have offered to help others in their transition. 

InlandNet consists of an Executive Team, which meets the first Wednesday of each month right after the Networking Meeting and a Board of Trustees, which was established in 1Q10.

Your privacy is very important to InlandNet.  This privacy statement provides information about the personal information that InlandNet collects and the ways in which InlandNet uses that personal information.  Additionally it contains information on how to use the Yahoo group and set the options that are available to you.

At any time you can unsubscribe from the Yahoo Group and stop receiving e-mails from us, by using the instructions which will be sent to you when you join the Group and quarterly thereafter. At any time, you can ask us to remove your information from the Master List by sending an e-mail to membership@inlandnet.org and we will remove the information in our next upload – usually within two weeks.

 

Personal information collection

InlandNet collects and uses the following kinds of personal information:

l  information that you provide using for the purpose of registering with us;

l  information that you provide for the purpose of subscribing to the Yahoo Group;

l  information that helps others to assist you with your career search; and

l  any other information that you send to InlandNet.

Using personal information

InlandNet may use your personal information to:

l  administer and personalize the Yahoo Group and Website;

l  enable your access to and use of the Yahoo Group and Website;

l  work with affiliated organizations who assist people in transition;

l  publish Group List with your information on the Yahoo Group and Website; and

l  send you e-mail communications.

InlandNet may disclose your personal information to its volunteers and affiliated organizations for these purposes and they will be obligated to use that personal information in accordance with the terms of this privacy statement. We will never sell or provide this information to career coaches, recruiters, services providers, etc.

In addition to the disclosures reasonably necessary for the purposes identified above, InlandNet may disclose your personal information to the extent that it is required to do so by law, in connection with any legal proceedings or prospective legal proceedings and/or in order to establish, exercise or defend its legal rights.

InlandNet cannot guarantee that your personal information may not be used for other purposes by members of the Group.

By registering with us, you agree to allow us to include your information on our Master List and upload it to the Yahoo Group where it can be accessed by the other members. You also agree to allow us to send you e-mails thru the Yahoo Group.

By providing your personal information to InlandNet, you agree to release InlandNet and St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church, as well as their employees, volunteers, agents, assigns and affiliates, and to hold them harmless from any and all liabilities which may arise from any unauthorized use of your personal information.
